D A R K 2 EASTERN MOST ROAD OF INDIA Kibithu

There is a saying that a biker is always young and life is useless without adventure so does we in D.A.R.K believe….

19th May 2013 the day we were eagerly waiting for….. few months ago the members of D.A.R.K decided to go to for a trip as it was 10yrs of D.A.R.K too . we decided to go to Kibithu the eastern most road of India  knowing that the border area of India and China had some disputes, few people said that we better change the route but we didn’t, we decided we will go no matter what the circumstance would be we talked with each other and we all agreed .
Day 1 Morning06.00 hrs was the time we fixed but the rain god was just there for us blessing with his shower we had to wait till 11.00 hrs as our two of our friend was coming from Sivsagar at around 11.30 hrs  they reached Dibrugarh  and at 12.00 hrs. We started our journey knowing that we were late. At 15 hrs we reached Dirak Gate and showed our I.L.P(inner line permit) and entered Aurnachal Pardesh we had already heard that the road of Kamlang Nagar was flooded on news paper soon what was heard came  to true, the river water was flowing above the bridge  and the road was cut off just as we were watching a truck trying to cross was fallen with the current of the water and got tilted, …. we watched each other’s face what to do next, one thing that we had in our mind that we will defiantly cross at any cost, time was  passing and soon we saw a few local people coming out from the side of the road we asked them where did they came from they just replied  “from the other side” we asked the route they smiled at us and said we came by walking and we don’t know whether bike could go through or not……
we talked with each other and said “ letz do it “ for that we had to cross water which was just above our wrist we manage to cross our bikes and then the main journey started crossing throw the orange trees and mud, it took us nearly one and half hour to cross just 700 meter to see the road again of the other side waiting no further we started for Tezu which was 58 kms away after riding for couple of hrs we at last reached Tezu at around 20 hrs one of our brother had already book us a hotel for us, we had our dinner and chatting for few hrs with our friends, the hotel staff inform us that it was impossible to reach Kibthu at this time as the road were blocked we felt bit sad but we knew that we can make it through,
Day 2 Next morning 20th of May. Our planning was to halt in Khupa or Hayilung which was 120 kms away from Tezu . At around 11 hrs  we started for Khupa  and Soon the twisted road and sharp curve turns started  and also the excitement increased.
After couples of hrs we reached Khupa at around 1500hrs .It was our bad luck that there was no room in the Inspection Bungalow as well as in the hotel as all of the rooms were occupied for the ongoing counting of votes to be held the next day of the recent GP election. We were left with  no choice either to go to Hawai or Walong. Waiting no further we left for Walong few kms later we face another problem, the water from the mountains were just passing over the road and we had to again take off our shoes as well as we needed us to push the bike few more hundred meters, later we faced the same problem  it was already 5 P.m and was becoming dark. We decided that we better halt  at Hawai and headed for Hawai, we reached around 12.30 am we knew that it was already late and we may not find any place to stay. We saw a hall type house and headed straight towards thinking to be a circuit house, we came to know it was Hawai M.L.A Bhawan after knowing our problems he let two of his boys to accompany was to Inspection Bungalow it was bad luck again  that the Inspection Bungalow was full due to the counting that was to be held, the boys soon took us to Hawai Circuit House and we were greeted warmly as they provide  us rooms and dinner .We were completely tired and after having our dinner we soon went to sleep.
Day 3:21st
Early next morning when we wake up we were surprise to see the beauty of Hawai it was just mind blowing, birds creeping and the sun coming out from the mountains, we just spent few hrs watching nearby areas and left off for Walong at 10 A.M . The road to Walong was good the Lhoit river was just following us on our side, like it was accompanying us, At around 1 P.M we reached Walong. The first thing we noticed was complete silence all we could hear was the unrestrained gurgle of the Lohit in its mad rush from the Chinese mountains up above. The road splits and one led us up towards the side of the hills and to the Inspection Bungalow we had to wait for nearly 2 hrs at I.B as the incharge of  the I.B went to the town, when he came it was quite relief for us, he gave us the rooms and soon we had our launce we asked about the war memorable and  he said it is up there in the mountains named as Helmet Top, he informed us that the road was very bad and it was quite risky to go. This made us more exited to go. At around 4 .20p.m  we started to Helmet Top which was 22 kms. The road were scary as there were sharp pin bands at around 5.15 we reached Helmet Top, there we saw the war memorable of 1962 Grenades and live ammunition
, the Indian army at that time stopped the Chinese army at the battle   It said, ‘At Walong, Indian troops lacked everything. The only thing they did not lack was guts’. Waiting for some time we started back to Walong. The night at Walong was made more memorable by the chirping of insects and  the sounds of the Lohit river and the winds it was our most memorable night …

Day 4 22nd morning we started for Kibthu just outside Walong town there is memorial built by the Lohit Brigade to salute the brave and selfless sacrifices made by the Army men during the 1962 war. Known as the ‘Hut of Remembrance Just 4kms away from Walong There was Tilam which is famous for Hot Spring we parked our bikes and headed towards it though the water was dirty but it was boiling hot after spending a hour we started to the Far East of India after a couple of hrs later we reached where it was clearly written welcome to the far east of India we clicked some photos and headed to Kibithu
there was a new road been made very sharp and scary as the old road was been washed out in land slide a hr or later we reached Kibthu we didn’t had the permission to go more we clicked some photos and returned while coming downwe saw another road which was going to Diccu but our luck was bad as the bridge in Messai was been washed out in flood we parked our bikes and started walking there was a hanging bridge which was connected to the other side it was one of our scary moments in our life as the bridge was dancing in the air at that time our single foot
step was like a tortoise walking crossing the bridge we started walking to Dichu which was 12 kms almost 1hr later we reached Dichu we found a local tribal man who led was to see the China border from one of a view point at that time our faces were in big smile
as if we have fulfill our dreams of the far east of India .We took sometime watching the view which was fascinating and beautiful at that time we didn’t wanted to return back but we knew someone was waiting for was ot our homes we started back walking and reached our bike and started away back to Walong
Day 5 23rd Next morning we woke up and had our breakfast we bade good bye to the old man of I.B thou we didn’t wanted to leave . we started at 11 am and on 8.30 pm we reached Tezu we stayed in The Circuit House and after having our dinner soon went to sleep.

Day 6 24th Next day was our returning day to our home we refill our bike and started towards our journey to our homes at around 9.00 am at around 9 45 pm we reached our homes safe and sound and lotz of memories that will always make us young
